Voting stays open until you finalize the event or its last proposed time has passed. Finalizing and the calendar invite are free on both plans, and participants never need an account.
Can software use WhenWhen?
Yes. Reading an event, voting and finalizing need no account and no API key; the share link is the credential. Creating events over the API needs a token, which a Pro account can issue. See the developer guide.
When does voting close?
When the last time slot you proposed has passed, or when you finalize the event, whichever comes first. Once voting closes the page becomes read-only, and thirty days after that the event and all its data are permanently deleted.
A finalized event and its calendar file stay up until thirty days after the time you picked, and are then deleted. If the time you pick has already gone by, you still get thirty days from when you picked it. Copy anything you want to keep before then. The Terms have the full lifecycle details.
